Working in the Garden Box

It was beautiful out the other day so Paris and I decided to go through the garden box a bit - clearing out dead leaves, picking out old vegetables, eating dirt - you know what I mean. These are some adorable pictures we took while out there.

Typical Day for Will

I think when Will grows up he wants to be a dancing queen! This is just a day in the life of preschool outfits for Will Mckeehan.

Baby Hamster

Recently, Cooper saw baby hamsters at the pet store for $6.99 and decided that he is going to do chores to earn enough money to buy one. He is lucky to live next to Nonni and Grandpa Rob who have an endless supply of cash and chores. The only problem is that we already have one hamster and I don't know how excited Austin will be about another one. Cooper has already solved that - "don't worry mom, you know how much Dad loves Tan(our current hamster, named by Cooper) and I think I am going to buy the baby hamster for him for his birthday. I thought it was very sweet of him to think of his Dad and how much he must be wanting a baby hamster!

Armpit-mometer

Tonight Cooper was shivering on the couch and I thought that he might have a fever and Will said, "Oh, yeah, we need to put something in your armpit!" I didn't know what he was talking about until Cooper started talking about thermometers and temperatures and I said, "Oh, yeah Will, we need to put the thermometer under your armpit." We started a discussion about places where you could put the thermometer and how you could find out your temperature and Will said, 'yeah, you just use an armpit tool." And I said, "It's called a thermometer." And Will said, very excitedly, "Oh, I know! An armpit-mometer." It was hilarious at the time - a much-needed chuckle at the end of a long day.

Paris Loves Dada

Paris has been learning to wave hello. She gets especially excited to see her Dad. One day last week Austin had just gotten home from work and he came to sit down at the dinner table with us. As soon as Paris saw him she started to wave and said, "Hi dada!" She loves him so much that she even waved to him in the middle of the night when I got her up to eat. He came up the stairs to see if I needed help and she looked at him sleepily and waved.

Will and Mom went ice skating

The other day I took Will ice skating. I don't get much time alone just with him and it was really fun. He planned out his "hockey uniform" all week. He wore shark pj bottoms under shorts, gloves, a helmet and two shirts. He assured me he wouldn't be cold because he had his shark bottoms on. He was so sweet to me. We had wonderful discussions and he wanted to hold my hand the whole time we skated. He was well-behaved and didn't whine about anything the whole time. We looked at the hockey gear at the shop and he chose gloves and shoulder pads for his birthday.

Martin Luther King Day update

Paris is now crawling and moving all around the house saying "dada" as often as possible. She is waving and in general being adorable and sweet. Cooper is becoming a sweet and wonderful helper. In one of my recent crazy days he came over and said, "mom what can I do for you?" Then he proceeded to hug me and help vacumn the living room. Will is a crazy boy still. Trying to figure out how to channel his energy into more productive activities than sitting on Paris. He is very excited to wear the new UM football gear he got for Christmas. Had to pry it off of him yesterday to wash it! They are wonderful and keep us learning how to be patient! And make us laugh constantly!
